To be honest I still find it hard working here, for nothing is what it seems. At times I think other than having your own personal proffession one must have a mixed knowledge of psychology and some detective work in order to be able to work with one’s own countrymen.

From now on I will try to share more of my life and my surroundings.

This post is inspired by Mr. Hossain Derakhshan’s article  Why I am against the overthrow. Since I don’t have the guts nor the courage to write a reply of some sort, for every time I go back to Tehran my whole body shakes with fear in front of the passport control. I decided to share with you one of my own expriences so you would know why I also am against the regime change in Iran!

I was eight years old and had just started second grade. It was during the Iran-Iraq war, so as the dear reader can imagine the atmosphere was revolutionary and pro-war and martyrdom. Every morning we stood in the school yard (regardless of the weather conditions) praising our dear leader and expressing our hatred towards countries we new little of. Death to America! death to Israel! and mind you this elaborate ceremony took place every single morning. One of the rules in our school which had to be obeyed was cutting our hair in a military style, meaning: you were almost left bald. I don’t know what happened that somehow I disobeyed haircut rule for a few weeks. So in one fine morning I was picked out by the school principle. First I didn’t know why, but when I saw the scissor in his hand everything fell in to place. Unfortunately all my begging and crying was of no avail. All I could feel was the principl’s fingers going through my hair and the sound of the metallic scissor cutting my hair. After the whole affair came to an end the principle went behind the mic. and shouted: ‘Allah Akbar’ (God is great) and went on showing my hair to the rest of the students.

Last year when I went back to Iran I was taking a tour in my uncle’s factory grounds where all of the sudden I came eye to eye with a man whom I knew from my past. It was my principle. He was old, and almost beaten with cancer. As he told me later on his monthly pension was not enough and he had to work here and there and he was very bitter about his only son whom had immigrated to the land of the devil, the U.S. I never reminded him of that day. 

I guess all of us have this sort of stories drawn in our lives, only with different scales; but they are all important for they are the storis of our lives which has shaped and formed the person that we are today.

To get some prospective I am going to analyse Darcy’s character as well as I can. Lets see….Superiority complex( over women in general), over confidence, over moody, unfriendly, unsociable, lame sense of humour and bitter over everything in life. So I ask, what on earth makes the ladies so attracted to Darcy’s character?

For men only: If any of you guys have watched the movie and God for bids, have been aspired by Mr. darcy’s character and have decided to use any of his character traits in your personal life in regard with your partners; I suggest that you don’t, the end result is a broken head or a nose!

Avoiding eye contact. Bringing down the tone of voice. Changing the language (from Farsi to….). Ignoring one’s own nationality preferably choosing Italian or Greek (this technique is used as the last measure). And the list goes on….

A few days back I had to attend some business in an estate agency, where I saw an Iranian couple purchasing a house. The following is the conversation as best as I can remember. (forgive my ear-dropping, it was unintentional!)

Man: [looking towards his wife] will three bedrooms be enough? How about the garden?

Woman: [sounds nervous] O, yes, yes, its alright. Only if..[Making a sign with her eyes, which only Iranian women are capable of] You know.

Man: [Turning towards the estate agent whom happened to be an Iranian] Well…you see everything is all-right about the house, but if you could check and see if  there are any other Iranians living in the same bloc?

Estate agent: [smiling] Sure, actually this is the first request from most of our Iranian clients.

Do we hate each-other that much that we even can not bear each other physically? What are the root causes for this?

As far as the Dodging Techniques are concerned, I would not rely on them if I were you. Do not forget that genetically all Iranians are equipped with a radar or an Iranian detector mechanism which detects and analyses an Iranian entity from 300m-400m.

Honestly, what is wrong?
